"I recently built a new home, and due to the well water's high iron content, I had a water softener and conditioner installed. Although my well water did not test positive for sulfur according to the water treatment guy, I went ahead and had the conditioner included with the softener "just in case". "When my water softener quit working properly two years ago I had a new Culligan Softener installed. The Installer from Culligan tested the water and said that it was high in iron content. This is not uncommon in northern Minnesota. He suggested I use Crystal Clean as an added treatment. "I have been the service manager for a Pennsylvania based water conditioning company for the past eight years. When I took this position the company had already been using Crystal Clean for several years after I was told that it really worked.  At first I thought it was just another gadget to sell with a water softener, however; I found it was common practice to use it on the tough jobs. "Crystal Clean was recommended to me when I bought my water softener as a means of extending the life and improving efficiency. I took the advice and added a Crystal Clean system. For thirteen years, it has been trouble-free and my water quality has been excellent. This year, my Crystal Clean pump finally died and it was some time before I got around to replacing it. When I finally got time to get another pump, I found that my local dealer had since retired and I had to search elsewhere for a replacement. "4-5 weeks later and it works and works great!  Noticeable changes happened in the first week.  Smell is gone, taste is gone.  Amazing! 
Several dinner guests came over and asked me which bottled water I was using (No Kidding!) They were shocked (two still don't believe me) that it was my well water they were drinking.

"Not sure if you remember us, but we ordered some Crystal Clean a while back.  We used it for a few months with no success.  It turns out we owe you a huge apology.  We took your advice in your last e-mail and had someone come out and check our water.  We discovered that the bypass for the water softener was on the whole time, so we were using pure well water the whole time. 

I'm so sorry. We moved to the country and I was not familiar about how the system worked, so I didn't realize that the water wasn't even going through the softener. We sent the pump back to you and got a refund no problem.

I have been adding the remainder of the solution that we have manually to the brine tank, and there has been no smell and the rust has virtually vanished!  Recently, I stopped adding it in the tank and the smell has started to come back.  So the short of it is, I guess it would have worked great for us.

"I wanted to remark how effective the Crystal Clean solution was at solving my very severe ferrous rust problems.  Before I began using the Crystal Clean  System, my well water had a very high concentration of ferrous iron, causing rust stains on my bathroom fixtures, laundry, and even my dishwasher.  Within 1 week of using Crystal Clean, all of my staining problems disappeared.
